The latest update with the new Gutenberg editor is causing “Updating Failed” message in WordPress. It looks kinda like this:

I experienced this first hand on my first use of the new update, not very pleasant. There I was, minding my own business, when suddenly there was an “Updating Failed” message in WordPress. How am I supposed to save my post?!
After some digging I found a workaround here, which I will share so you don’t also have to dig for it.
Just head on over to Settings > Permalinks and set a custom permalink structure. If you don’t feel like having all your links actually change, just use the custom permalink feature to create the exact same default permalink structure you were using before!

That’s it! Pretty simple workaround until they actually get their shit together. Let me know if that helped!
